Why should I get involved?
Planting trees buys us time: time that is absolutely necessary in order to find a solution with which we can live comfortably and safely, without excessive use of fossil fuels. Every report into climate change is more alarming than the last. Within 50 years we should expect a temperature rise of 2° Celsius. On one hand this seems lovely but on the other hand, as the reports forewarn, the costs to protect ourselves against heat, drought, storm damage and rising sea levels will be extortionate. Not to mention the consequences in the poorer countries of the world. By offsetting your CO^₂ emissions, you are not only taking responsibility for you actions - you are providing a contribution that will genuinely curb the problem of climate change. Simultaneously, thousands of people are given work, land is protected against erosion, water supplies are made safe and the environment is restored.
