Who We Are

Trees for Travel is an independent, private organisation. Trees for Travel reduces global warming by planting trees and sustainable energy projects as well as about informing people about climate change. At least 75% of our income goes towards forestry projects in developing countries and the Netherlands. We take care of the verification and certification.

The Trees for Travel foundation consists of a board of trustees and professional staff under the supervision of a managing director. Furthermore, many volunteers are active by distributing leaflets and representing us at fairs and other events. If you are interested, then contact us.

We are a non-profit organisation and since the outset we have wanted to meet the requirements of the CBF Charity Hallmark (a Dutch system of charity registration). Therefore the administration and marketing costs are kept to less than the CBF requirement of a maximum of 25% of expenditure. At this moment, we are in the process of receiving the CBF Charity Hallmark. Trees for Travel is already recognised as a charity by the Dutch Tax Office therefore all donations made are tax deductible.

We are allowed to use the International Climate Symbol intended only for non-commercial organisations that are actively making a difference to curb the greenhouse effect. That shows we mean business!
