Ecology, Nature and Culture
The Green Room will bring people and nature closer together. It will become a modern estate where nature and culture are intertwined. Two thirds of the total 30 hectares of land purchased has been reserved for unbroken development of the natural environment; of which 15 hectares will be forest. It will be a park-like environment where visitors can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. The existing landscape has played a leading role in the design process. The design matches the cultural and historical settlement models: The starting point being to preserve the character and originality of this meeting of urban and rural. The design also complements existing plans for the development of the natural environment in the region. An ecological connection zone runs along the river Donge, coinciding with the margin of the estate.
