Isn’t carbon offsetting just a load of hot air?
Organisations involved with the offsetting of carbon emissions are numerous and of varying quality. A professional organisation will always allow its activities to be verified and certified. Its forest management activities will be carried out in a sustainable manner; if this is not the case, then a customer can unsurprisingly be sceptical. The reforestation projects coordinated by Trees for Travel are achieved by the Face Organisation, established in 1990 by the Cooperative of Electricity Providers. Since 2000, Face has been an independent non-profit organisation gaining a wealth of experience in the field of forestry linked CO^₂ offsetting. Furthermore, Face allows all its forestry projects to be inspected by an internationally accredited certification organisation.
