Trees absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gasses en divert it to oxygen (O2). We offer not only to compensate for carbon dioxide, but for all greenhouse gasses and as such we talk about CO2-equivalents (CO2-e), which include not only CO2, but also the other damaging greenhouse gas emissions.
Contribute to a greener world and restrain global warming. Trees for Travel offers the possibility to compensate for emitted greenhouse gasses, such as CO2, for a modest price. Everyone uses fossil fuels; when you drive, fly, cook, and while heating your house in wintertime. Quickly calculate your emissions by using the Emissions Calculator. Compensate or donate and invest in sustainable development in developing countries. By doing so, you enable reforestation- and sustainable energy projects to be initiated and continued. These projects generate extra income for local people and contribute to the recovery of our natural environment. You can chose for yourself which project you want to support with your compensation or donation.
Our lines are short and therefore, our costs are low. As we believe your contribution should reach the project itself, and not be held back for unnecessary involvement by other parties! Trees for Travel has already realized many tons of carbon compensation and planted millions of shrubs and trees.

Nature and the environment are our only shareholders
Trees for Travel is a foundation without profit aims that tries to keep overhead costs as low as possible (<25%): as such nature and environment are our only shareholders. This means that we strive to invest as much as possible from your contribution into the projects and people that depend on these projects for their livelihoods. So, no high overhead costs, no distribution of profits to investors, and consequently affordable prices for the compensation of greenhouse gasses.
Sustainable Development
Where other organizations just buy carbon credits and search for the cheapest price, Trees for Travel has chosen to develop and support its own projects and to use their income to further extend these projects. Trees for Travel is always looking for specifically those projects that offer high value for local communities and the poor and/or conservation and development of biodiversity. Therefore, as one of the few, we can guarantee that your contribution leads to sustainable development, and as such additionally supports the realization of the Millennium Goals.
Compensate CO2 or donate trees
Do you want to compensate CO2, or just donate trees? Trees for Travel offers both options. Either way, you will always contribute to social economic development of the local population.
