Tailor-made for you
As a company, governmental department or other organization there are several ways to participate in the Trees for Travel programs. Many organizations have already chosen to offset their emissions resulting from flights, car or haulage use and electricity consumption. Company events can also be made carbon neutral or donations which support further tree planting can be given.

Management and recovery
Together with Trees for Travel you invest in either afforestation, reforestation, forest recovery and –protection, or in the development of sustainable and renewable energy. In doing so we offer two options.
- Through donations we plant new trees which are not used for certified CO2-capture. Naturally, the planting is guaranteed and controlled.
- Through compensation trees are planted or sustainable energy is developed and we additionally take care of the certification of the captured CO2-equivalents (CO2-e).
With the first option you pay for each tree that is planted and with the second option you pay per ton of CO2-e emitted. The advantage of donations is that it is more cost effective due to the fact that high certification- and clearinghouse costs are avoided (which can count up to about 50% of total costs), and as such we can plant more trees for the same amount of money. When choosing CO2-e compensation you receive guaranteed carbon credits, which can be eligible for your company’s reporting. With both options greenhouse gasses are extracted from the atmosphere or emissions are avoided through sustainable energy or avoided deforestation.
Local sustainable development
Whichever option you choose, Trees for Travel’s projects guarantee sustainability. As this is the starting point of what we stand for. Every project has to be more than just forest or sustainable energy, and each project has its own specific value. The local inhabitants living nearby the projects are involved in managing the project and gain extra income out of it. Nature goes well with increased biodiversity en reduced erosion, which in turn is positive for the local people and assures improvement of the water quality. And this all is realized thanks to your climate compensation, several birds with one stone. Our projects also contribute to the realization of the Millennium Goals, and as such we have joined the EEN-Campagne (this is the Dutch branch of an international campaign against poverty, also known as ‘ONE’ in the US, and ‘Make Poverty History’ in the UK).
Your company climate neutral
Compensation afterwards is good, but avoiding greenhouse gas emissions is far more effective and even provides you with economic advantages on the longer term. We are pleased to advice you on the possibilities to enable your company to become climate neutral.
Trees for Travel is a partner in Climate Partners. This is a group of organizations that has specific knowledge of climate neutrality. There are organizations that are specialized in company investigations, the other in the development of public awareness campaigns, the next in developing technical solutions and –naturally- Trees for Travel is specialized in climate compensation and sustainable development in developing countries. Thanks to this network we can help every company to develop carbon neutral policies. At the first place this means that greenhouse gas emissions should be reduced, which is the most important step in reversing climate change. The second step after reduction is compensation in order to extract the inevitable greenhouse gasses related to your company’s activities.
